How much does a powerflush cost?
A powerflush with us typically costs £500–£1,000. Where yours falls depends on your system, mainly how many radiators you have, the type of system (combi, system boiler or an older system with tanks in the loft) and how dirty it is. We give every home a free, fixed quote before any work starts.
What changes the price
The number of radiators. Each one is flushed in turn, so more radiators means more time.
The type of system. A combi, a system boiler with a cylinder, or an older open-vented system with tanks in the loft each need a slightly different setup.
How dirty it is. A heavily sludged system takes longer to run clear.
Whether a magnetic filter is needed, and how easy it is to reach the boiler, pump and any tanks.
What’s included
A check of your system before we start, a chemical clean, each radiator flushed in turn with the flow reversed, inhibitor added at the end, a magnetic filter fitted if you don’t already have one, and a final check that every radiator is heating evenly before we leave.
Why some quotes are cheaper
Not every “flush” is the same. A quick chemical flush through the boiler’s own pump is cheaper, but it moves far less sludge than a full machine powerflush that cleans each radiator in turn. When you compare quotes, ask what’s included.
Is a powerflush worth it?
If your radiators have cold spots, the water is black when you bleed them, or the boiler is noisy or keeps breaking down, yes: it deals with the cause rather than the symptoms. If your heating works evenly and the water runs clear, you probably don’t need one, and we’ll tell you so.
